on Saturday 17th July 2010.

We Hope you enjoy the new look wesite
Loch Lomond Highland Games is situated at the southern end of Loch Lomond in the middle of the quiet village of Balloch.
The Games were started in July 1967 by a group of local businessmen who were keen to promote the area and restore its popularity with local people and tourists alike. In those days the challenge was to raise £500 to run the event in the hope that sufficient people would turn up in sufficient numbers to warrant making the Games an annual event.
We now appear to have achieved that aim and are now numbered amongst the top three Highland Games events in the country, with approximately 10,000 to 15,000 visitors coming to the Games each year.
The Games are a traditional Highland Games and has now over £15,000 Prize Money and Trophies for Local and Open Events.
It now hosts:-
- The Official Scottish Highland Games Association World Heavyweight
Championship (Ball, Hammer and Caber Weights) - The Scottish 80 Metres Running Championship
- The Scottish Backhold/Cumberland Style Wrestling British Championship
- Highland Dancing (Local and Open)
- Solo Piping (Local and Open)
- Pipe Band and Drum Majors competition (Under R.S.P.B.A.)
- Track events.
- Cycling
- Tug o’ War (Local and open)
In addition Loch Lomond Highland Games is the only Highland Games to host a Triathlon which includes swimming ,cycling and running.
